So, let’s start our story about how to get a Russian visa on your own with no middlemen. The process itself is not so complicated, and we will try to tell you about everything related to obtaining a visa to Russia in the simplest terms and plain language.

Before we start, please, note that:

If you are planning to travel to Russia with a trip voucher from a tourist company , then, most likely, the company would be dealing with your visa processing. You will only need to fill in a visa application form, provide your passport and photos. Even if you travel independently (without the help of a travel agency), you can also find a tourist company that deals with visas to Russia, and they will do everything for you. However, in both cases you will spend significantly more money than if you applied for it by yourself.

To enter Russia without a visa (for a stay of 30 to 90 days) can passport holders of the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Israel, Montenegro and many others. ATTENTION ! If you travel a lot, you may already have medical insurance to travel abroad and you do not need to get a new one. However, you should make sure that it is valid for Russia and that the insurance company issued you a certificate stating that the insurance covers the entire territory of the Russian Federation.

To obtain a visa to Russia, it is necessary to give in to a Consulate of the Russian Federation (or a Visa Centre) a travel insurance policy that includes repatriation expenses for medical reasons, emergency medical care and / or emergency hospitalization for the entire period of stay in Russia.

You can purchase such insurance in the insurance companies authorized and registered with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

You can also purchase the insurance through the Visa Application Centre of the Russian Federation, but it will be more expensive and cover a smaller number of services (basic insurance including repatriation and medical assistance will cost approximately 22 $ / 20 € . You will need to contact the Visa Centre, to ask them to send you a questionnaire which you will have to fill in, scan and send back, wherein you will have to pay for this service through the bank.

How to apply for a health insurance?

The simplest, cheapest and fastest option will be a self-registration for insurance online . It will cost about 17 $ / 16 € (for a 10 days trip) and you will receive your insurance immediately by email. It will need to be printed, signed and submitted along with the rest of the documents.

How to apply for a visa to Russia?

2.4.1. When you go to the site, select your country and the language , which will be convenient for you to fill in the fom. Confirm that you have read the preliminary information by ticking it. And, finally, click on "Complete new application form".

It is important in order to access the form again. You will also need to provide your last name and the answer to a security question. 2.4.2. The most important paragraph . First you need to fill in the information in the section "Information on the required visa":

• Nationality
• Have you ever had the citizenship of Russia or a country of the former USSR
• Purpose of visit and type of visa. It is required to specify TOURISM
• Number of entries requested is single or double. Specify as many as you had specified when received the invitation
• Dates of the trip. It is necessary to specify the date of entry (arrival to Russia) and departure. It is necessary to enter and leave Russia during this period. The dates indicated in the form must match the dates in the invitation and insurance (or at least be included into these days). If you specify "from 10 to 20 August" in the "Trip dates" section, and the invitation (or insurance) will be "from 11 to 20 August", you will not receive the documents. However, if the invitation (or insurance) indicates the period from August 12 to August 19, then there will be no problems.

2.4.3. On the next screen, you will need to enter your personal data, as it is indicated in your passport:

• Surname
• Have you been registered under other names, surnames, etc.
• Date of Birth
• Place of Birth
• Whether you were born in Russia

Fill in the form in capital letters, without using diacritical marks , do not use dots, commas and wavy lines - for example, the Spanish letter Ñ will be replaced by the system on N. In the screenshot you can see the filled in data.

2.4.5. The most important paragraph. In the travel details section, you need to specify the following information from your visa support

Next you must click "Yes" n the paragraph with the question "Do you Plan to stay anywhere during your travel in Russia?" and fill in the data about all the hotels in each city stay:

1. The name of the hotel (to enter the data you need without the quotation marks, and hyphens);

Print out the application form, put the date of completion, do not forget to sign it and stick the original passport size (3x4 cm) photo (copies are not accepted). It must be recent, coloured, in full face and you should not have any sunglasses or headgear on it .

If you are applying for a visa through the Russian Visa Application Centre, you can make a payment by bank transfer (attach payment confirmation to the submitted documents) or in the centre itself in cash or by card. You could find the payment details on the site of a specific visa centre.

If you decided to apply for a visa at a , you can pay by card or at a branch of a bank on a receipt issued by the Consulate. Cash for payments are not accepted.

After payment, you will only have to bring all the documents to the place where you are going to apply for a visa. If you want to do this through a courier service, then this service is available only at the Visa Centre of the Russian Federation. At a Consulate, you cannot obtain a visa without your personal attendance. To do this, you need to contact the centre by phone or e-mail, in addition, you can use the services of another courier service, not related to the Visa Centre.

IMPORTANT: In order to avoid any bureaucratic delays, in case anyone asks you “What is the purpose of your trip to Russia?” you MUST say that is "ТOURISM - a tourist company is dealing with the trip" . You should not mention any other purpose , such as visiting relatives, for example, even if it is you real purpose.

The procedure for issuing a standard visa takes about 10 calendar days from the date of sending the documents. You can obtain an urgent visa within 24 hours without taking into account the day when the documents were submitted. If you are applying for a visa through a courier service, it will take a little longer.

The visa centre of the Russian Federation will notify you via e-mail about issuing a visa. We recommend that you check the correctness of all the completed data.

Finally a few words about applying for a visa

If you are planning to obtain a visa to Russia and want to do it carefree and without hassle, use the services of a Visa centre. If you need for example a business visa and you want to save money, contact a Consulate of the Russian Embassy.

If you have a valid passport, the rest of the documents required for the procedure of obtaining a visa can be received through the Internet on your own easily and without overpayments within an hour:

• Letter of invitation for 15 $ / 13 €
• Travel insurance for 1.1 $ / 1 € per day - just tick a “I would like to have insurance“ form
• Fill in the visa application form for free at: https://visa.kdmid.ru/petitionchoice.aspx , and then to print it out, sign it and stick a standard passport size photo.
• Attach a payment confirmation if you pay by bank transfer.

After all documents are ready, bring them to the place of applying in person or through the delivery service. Within approximately 10 days you will successfully obtain a visa for a trip to Russia.

The process of registration does not end with obtaining of a visa. Remember that on arrival to Russia you need to perform two additional procedures : fill in the migration card and register for . The first document is usually completed by a passport control officer at the border, and the second by a hotel employee, where you decided to stay.

During entire period of the trip, be sure to carry your passport with the migration card and the migration registration notice in case you are stopped on the street by a policeman (this might happen, though very seldom).

, by registering with the migration service of the Russian Federation within the first 7 days of arrival (excluding weekends and holidays). Until March 2011 it was necessary to register within 72 hours, but under the new law the term has been changed.

If you are staying in Russia less than 7 days you do not need to have any migration registration.

Why is temporary registration in Russia necessary?

The purpose of registration is to notify the immigration authorities of the place where you stayed, about your presence in Russia. You must register in each of the cities you are going to visit.

Registration is not your responsibility, it must be arranged for you by the hotel where you will stay, or the owner of the apartment in which you live.

If you have chosen a hotel accommodation, after your arrival, a hotel manage in charge should take care of your migration registration. You will be asked to give your passport with a visa and a migration card that you will receive at the border when entering the country.

If you do not live at a hotel, but in a private property, its owner has to register his/her guest at the FMS (Federal Migration Service) office or at the post office. It is not necessary to be present at registration, provide the owner of the property with a copy of the first page of your passport, your visa and the migration card.

It should be noted that some companies issue temporary registration for a fee.

Also, please keep in mind that when leaving the country, you do not need to have a migration registration notification with you, unlike the migration card.

There is the opinion that getting a Russian visa is a hard and time-consuming process. Actually, it’s not.

In order to obtain a visa, you need to make three simple steps:

1. Get a visa invitation
2. Fill in the form on the web of the MFA of the RF
3. Apply to the consulate with the set of documents

In a few days, you can come to take your prepared visa.

The preparation of all the documents can take no longer than an hour in front of the computer but some of the beginners may have their difficulties. We have made the detailed manual describing the process step-by-step, containing the list of the necessary documents and examples how to fill them in so that you get everything right and obtain your visa without problems. Ready, set, go!

1. Do you actually need a visa?

If you’ve decided to come to Russia you will probably need a visa. This document gives you the right to cross the Russian borders and live in the country for a while. Russian visa is pasted into your foreign passport. It looks like this:

If you’re a citizen of the EU, the USA, Canada, Great Britain or Australia you will definitely need a Russian visa.

Only the citizens of the countries, which signed an agreement about a visa-free regime with Russia, can come to Russia without visa. Find your country on the map below and see if you need a visa. If you do, let’s investigate how to get it.

2. What visa do you need?

Russian visa can be issued in several types; which one to choose depends on purposes of your trip.

Russian Tourist visa

If you dream to make a picture near the St Basil’s Cathedral, walk by the Nevsky prospect, visit other Russian cities – choose a tourist visa.

We recommend you to issue a tourist visa even if you are going to a conference or planning to visit your relatives (friends) because in this case the issuance process is the simpliest and the fastest.

Visa is active up to 30 days, you can’t stay longer. The prolongation is only possible in case of illness.

More often, the consulate issues a single-entry visa. This means that you can enter and leave Russia only one time.

That is how a tourist visa looks

Russian Business visa

If you have a business in Russia or you plan a business trip you can arrange a business visa. It is issued for up to one year but in special cases it can be valid for even up to five years.

By having a business visa, you can visit Russia multiple times but you are not allowed to stay in Russia for more than 90 days in each half year.

Suppose, you obtain a business visa. You can live in Russia for 180 days in a year: 90 days in the first half a year and 90 days in the second one. You can’t stay for longer than 90 days without leaving a country.

Private visa

If your relatives (or friends) live in Russia and you want to visit them, you can arrange a host visa a.k.a. private visa. It provides you with opportunity to stay in Russia for 90 days. However, we don’t recommend you this type of visa because the obtaining takes a long time. It also demands that the Russian citizen, who receives you, visit the AFMS in person.

If you plan to meet your relatives or to travel through country we advise you to issue a tourist visa instead of the private one. It’s simplier, faster and cheaper.

If you still want to issue a private visa, you will need:

• Your valid passport
• 2 copies of the application form, filled out and signed
• 1 photo for visa (made recently)
• Formal notification from the local FMS of Russia

The receiving party has to issue this notification and send it to you in a form or original. In order to do it, they need:

• Full name of the guest
• Date of birth
• Nationality
• Passport number
• Home address
• Dates of the entering and departure to/from Russia

The issuance in the Department of visas and registrations costs about 35$ and takes up to 2 months.

If you plan to work in Russia, you need a work visa. It gives you the opportunity to be hired by any company in any position - there are no restrictions but firstly you need to get an invitation from your employer.

The work visa duration can amount from 1 to 3 years and you can come to Russia multiple times.

Other types of visa

Study visa is issued if you plan to get an education in Russia. Usually it is valid for no more than a year but if your education hasn’t been completed yet visa can be prolonged without leaving Russia.

Transit visa is issued in the cases you go to another country through Russia. You don’t need a transit visa if you are traveling by plane and change it in Russia without leaving an airport. The transit visa issuance don’t require an invitation but you need to demonstrate your train/plain tickets. Usually such visa is issued for up to 10 days.

Humanitarian visa is issued in the cases of charity, pilgrimage to holy places, cultural, school or student exchange, participation in sports events, etc.

3. What documents do you need for a visa?

Therefore, you have defined the type of your visa. Now you need to collect all required documents.

Step 1. Get a visa invitation to your visa

The invitation is an official document issued in the special form that contains your personal data, information about the receiving party, the purpose of your trip and duration of stay. Many people confuse noticing thinking that an invitation is a hotel reservation. These are different documents. An invitation is necessary for a visa unlike a booking.

The person who have invited you issues an invitation. If you are issuing a then your tour company or a hotel will arrange the invitation. If you are going to visit some private person(s) in Russia so the invitation is their concern. In the case of a business trip, the receiving company will issue your invitation and work visa will be issued on the ground of an invitation from the employer.

An invitation is issued in the Russian language. Some consulates ask for an original form, others can be satisfied with the copy.

If you are obtaining a tourist visa and have already picked up the hotel, call them or write by e-mail. Ask if they can send you an invitation by fax or e-mail. Sometimes hotels take from 20 to 50 dollars for the arrangement of an invitation, but some can send it free if you have already reserved a room and paid for the living.

Tourist invitation consists of two documents: a tourist confirmation and a tourist voucher.

If you want to avoid troubles and make it all quickly, you can apply to the organization that arrange invitations online. In our company the issuance of an official tourist invitation for a Russian visa takes 5 minutes and costs 1500 roubles, business/private invitation’s price is higher.

How to arrange a tourist invitation to Russia online

Step 2. Arrange your medical insurance

Citizens of Great Britain, the USA, Australia or Canada don’t have to issue a medical insurance. If you are a citizen of another country you will totally need it for your Russian visa (the insurance coverage should amount 30 000 euros). This document has to be valid in the whole territory of Russia for the whole period of your trip. You can issue it online and get on the same day.

Step 3. Fill in the visa application

Now, when you’ve planned the duration of your trip and got a medical insurance and an invitation, open the website of the Consular Department of the MFA of Russia and fill in the application form. You can do it online in Russian or English language.

If you have chosen the Russian language, write all the answers in Russian except for names, surnames, addresses and names of organizations (for these boxes use English).

If the surname/name contains specific national letters missing in the Latin alphabet (for example, Ñ, É, Ü or Ç) write it just the same way as in your foreign passport. For example, you should write Seo Tuerre instead of Séo Türre.

If you are filling out your application in English, use English for all the answers. Use the Latin alphabet only.

Then you need to answer if you have had the Russian citizenship (or the USSR citizenship). In the case you had, note when and why you have lost it.

Now tell about the purpose of your trip. If you have issued a tourist invitation, note tourism as a purpose. In the case of a private invitation, the purpose will be a private visit. If you have a business invitation, note «business visits» in this box.

After that, you need to clarify your purpose. For example, if you choose tourism you have to explain whether it is a purpose tourism, or a tourism in the organized group, or a tourist hunting, or a tourism by 72-hours program, or some other kind.

The dates of entering and departure has to match the dates in the invitation.

Now you have to describe your visa: type, category (single-entry/double-entry/multiple-entry), note the dates of entering and departure.

1. Personal data. That is the paragraph where you tell about yourself. Write your name and surname in the same way as in your foreign passport. Do not write short/second names in the case you don’t have them written in this passport.
2. Passport details. Note the type of your passport (if you are traveling by a foreign passport, choose a general civil), number, date of the issuance, validity and the organization that has carried out the issuance.
3. Visit information. That is the paragraph about the destination of your trip. Take all the information from your invitation to fill it in correctly. For example, in the case of a tourist visa, in the paragraph «Organization of your destination» write all the data from your invitation. In the paragraph «Route» choose the cities you are planning to visit (you can choose several by pressing the «Add» button). In the appropriate box write the number of your medical insurance and the exact name of the insurance company.

In the case you pay for your trip by yourself, choose «Independently» in the paragraph «Who pays for your trip and stay in Russia?». If you are a retired person/pupil/student and your relatives are paying for your trip, choose «Private person». If you get money for the trip from some kind of educational institution or from a company, choose «Organization».

In the last paragraph write contact information of the places where you are going to live in Russia. If you are issuing an invitation with our help, you will get an instruction with an address and other required data.

All boxes have to be filled. For example, if your hotel does not have a phone number, don’t leave this box empty. Write any numbers in it, for example, 111.

1. Additional information. That is the paragraph where you should answer (shortly) the questions about previous criminal records, diseases, visa rejections, cases of deportations, military service, etc. Be honest because all the information will be checked.
2. Education and work experience. Note where (besides school) you have studied and described two of your previous jobs. Don’t write where you’re working now (there is a special box for it below).

If you are on retirement indicate the two last jobs.

If you have never studied/worked write about it in your cover letter.

A template of the cover letter

If the company where you have worked, closed or moved to another address, indicate the address that it had when you worked there. If you don’t remember the phone number of the company, write any numbers but don’t leave this box empty.

If you don’t remember where you have worked (and you haven’t any documentation), answer that you have never worked and written about it in the cover letter.

1. Information about the previous visit(s). Describe your visits (not only to Russia but also to other countries). If you don’t remember the exact dates write the approximate ones.
2. Contact information. Write the names of your parents, home address and phone number.

In the box «Personal phone number» write the number of your mobile phone (not of the landline). If you don’t have any, write the number of your relatives/friends.

Indicate the place where you work/study now. If you are on retirement, answer «Yes» for the question «Do you work/study?» and then write «Pensioner» in the boxes «Work place» and «Position». Write «No» in the box «Address» and indicate any numbers in the «Phone number» box.

1. Place of appliance. Choose the place where you’re going to apply for a visa. For example, if you have written that you live in Austria, you will be offered to choose a consulate/visa center located in Austria.

That is all, your application is ready. Double-check it, save and print it out in two copies.

Print it out using only white, opaque A4-sized paper. Your application in the color paper will be declined. Use the color cartridges and print only on the one side of the paper. Duplex printing is not allowed.

After the receiving, you still can make changes in your application. Go to visa.kdmid.ru/RetrievePage.aspx and fill in four boxes: application number, your surname, date of birth and the password. Your application will get a new number; don’t forget to write it somewhere.

Visa application is valid within 30 days since the moment of applying.

Step 4. Check the passport

Your foreign passport must have no less than two blank pages for a new visa. It should be valid for no less than 6 months after your alleged departure from Russia. If there are no blank pages or the validity ends, you’d better issue a new passport.

While applying for a visa, you present a valid passport but there is a chance you will be asked to present the previous ones (in the case you have them).

Step 5. Make two photos

You will need 2 color photos 35mm x 45mm. Make a photo on the light background, full-face, without dark-glasses. That should be the pictures of a good quality: clear, no pixels, not blurred.

Paste it carefully into the special frame in your printed application. Write a date and a signature in the black frame below the photo.

If you are traveling with kids, be ready to present their birth certificates and copies of their parents’ passports.

4. Where to apply for a visa

You should present all the collected documents in the Russian consulate (or in the Visa Center of your native country). If you are a citizen of a Schengen country, you can also obtain a visa in any of other Schengen countries.

If you have a citizenship of one country but live in another one, you can obtain a Russian visa in the country of your living in the case you have a residence/work permit.

5. How much does the visa cost? How much time does the issuance take?

Russian visa for citizens of some country costs as much as this country’s visa for Russians. Schengen visa for Russians costs 35 euros; that’s the price that members of the EU pay for a Russian visa.

Moreover, the visa price depends on the place of the issuance (Russian consulate or Visa Center).

You can obtain a visa by the cheapest price in a consulate or in an embassy but sometimes it means that you have to stand in line or make an appointment preliminarily. If some document is missing or some mistake is made you can’t fix it right in the consulate so you must make an appointment again.

In some countries, Russian consulates take applications through the Visa Center that allows to avoid lines and makes the procedure simpler. The issuance through the Visa Center is more expensive. For example, in the European Union, it means extra expenses amounting 25-30 euros. But you can make an appointment several days before receiving; also, you will get assistance while filling in the application, obtain copies of the documents required and in addition, you will get a number of your application so that you can track its status. When the visa is ready, you can have it delivered to your house or to the workplace.

It’s necessary to add the receipt confirming the payment of a consular fee to your visa documents. But first ask about the better way of payment in the consulate. 7. How to lower the possibility of visa rejection

3. Collect the full document package. Check the documents so that they don’t contain any mistakes or inaccuracy.
4. Make sure that the purposes of your trip, cities that you plan to visit and the hotel in your application match the ones in the invitation.
5. Dates of your trip in the application must coincide with the ones in the invitation.
6. Don’t breach the law. You wouldn’t get a visa if you didn’t pay the fine, violated the duration of your stay in the country or were forcibly deported.

8. After the arrival

When you come to Russia you will have to fill in the migration card and register. This process has its specific details.

Migration card

You usually get it coming through the passport control in an airport or at the Russian customs (in case you cross the border by train, autobus or car).

The migration card consists of two equal parts the size of a passport page. You fill in both. Then the employee of a custom tears one of them off and takes it; another one stays in your hands. Put it into your passport and don’t lose because you will have to show it to the customers when abandoning Russia.

Registrations after an arrival

If you plan to stay in Russia for no longer than 7 days you don’t have to read the information below because there is no need to register for you. In the other case, the registration is necessary.

By the Russian law, you have to register within 7 days since your arrival to the country. It is necessary for the migration service so that they know where you are living. In the case you change cities, you will have to register in each of them.

The registration is very important. If you are staying in a hotel the registration falls on the administrator; in the case you live at your friends/relatives, they have to register you. You just need to make copies of the first page of your passport, your visa and the migration card that you’ve filled in at customs. The person who registers you should have all these copies.

2. Какая виза вам нужна

Российские визы бывают нескольких типов, какую выбрать - зависит от цели вашей поездки.

Частная виза

• 1 фотография на визу, сделанная недавно;
• извещение из местного ФМС в России.

Принимающая сторона должна получить и отправить вам оригинал извещения. Для этого ей нужно знать:

• полное имя того, кого она приглашает;
• дата рождения;
• национальность;
• номер паспорта;
• домашний адрес;
• дата планируемого въезда и выезда из России.

Оформление заявки в Управлении виз и регистраций (УВИР) стоит около 35 $ и занимает до двух месяцев.

Рабочая виза для иностранцев

Если вы собираетесь работать в России, вам потребуется рабочая виза. По ней вы можете устроиться в любую компанию на любую должность — ограничений нет, но вы должны еще до поездки получить приглашение от работодателя.

Срок действия рабочей визы может быть от одного года до трех лет, при этом выезжать и въезжать в Россию вы можете много раз и в любое время.

Другие типы виз

Следующий шаг — выбор типа приглашения. Если туристическое приглашение оформляется от лица гостиницы, то деловое приглашение оформляется от лица Федеральной миграционной службы или российской организации.

Приглашение от ФМС оформляется на гербовой бумаге. Если вы оформляете многократную визу, то относите в консульство оригинал приглашения, если вам нужна одно- или двукратная виза — достаточно копии.

Приглашение от российской компании оформляем только для граждан США, Норвегии, Швейцарии, Японии и Евросоюза, кроме Великобритании, Ирландии и Хорватии. Консульство принимает оригинал или копию — зависит от кратности визы и других обстоятельств. Перед оформлением этого типа приглашения позвоните в консульство и уточните, в каком виде они принимают приглашение.

Следующий шаг - заполнение личных данных.

Укажите данные паспорта, желаемые начало и конец действия визы и цель поездки.

Полис должен действовать на всей территории России и покрывать весь срок действия визы. Полис можно оформить по интернету и получить в тот же день.

Шаг 3: Заполните визовую анкету

После того, как определитесь с датой поездки, оформите приглашение и полис, откройте сайт Консульского департамента МИД России и заполните визовую анкету. Анкета заполняется в электронном виде на русском или английском языке.

1. Выбор страны проживания и языка

Для начала вам предложат выбрать страну, где вы живете и язык, на котором будут вопросы анкеты. Прочитайте правила заполнения визовой анкеты и поставьте галочку напротив «Я прочитал эту информацию».

Если вы выбрали русский язык, то все ответы на вопросы пишите на русском, а фамилии, имена, адреса и названия учреждений - на английском.

Если в фамилии или имени есть знаки вашего национального языка, которых нет в латинском алфавите (например, N, E, U или C), то пишите все транслитом - так, как в паспорте. Например, вместо Seo Turre надо писать Seo Tuerre.

Если вы заполняете анкету на английском языке, то все ваши ответы должны быть только на английском с использованием только тех букв, которые есть в латинском алфавите.

2. Номер анкеты и пароль

Ваша анкета создана и ей присвоен номер. Запишите его, чтобы в случае чего восстановить анкету. Придумайте легко запоминающийся пароль и запишите на листочке номер анкеты. По номеру и паролю вы сможете открыть не до конца заполненную анкету и добавить недостающую информацию. Забытые номер анкеты и пароль невозможно восстановить. Придется заполнять анкету заново.

3. Информация о запрашиваемой визе

В этом разделе вам нужно указать свое гражданство.

Затем нужно ответить, было ли у вас раньше гражданство России или СССР. Если было, то указать, когда и почему вы его утратили.

Теперь расскажите о цели поездки. Если вы оформляли туристическое приглашение, то целью поездки будет туризм. Если частное, то целью поездки будут частные визиты. Если у вас деловое приглашение, то целью поездки будут деловые визиты.

После того, как вы выбрали цель поездки, вам нужно уточнить, что это за поездка. Например, если вы выбрали туризм, то ниже нужно выбрать, какой именно: туризм, автотуризм, туризм целевой, туризм-охота, туризм-72 часа, тургруппа.

Даты въезда и выезда должны быть такими же, как в приглашении.

Теперь надо ответить на вопросы о визе: о ее категории и виде, кратности (однократная, двукратная, многократная) и указать дату въезда и выезда из России.

4. Персональная информация

В этом разделе вы рассказываете о себе. Имя и фамилию указывайте так, как указано у вас в паспорте. Не пишите сокращенные или вторые имена, если их нет в паспорте.

5. Информация о паспорте

В разделе о паспорте вы указываете его тип (если вы едете по обычному загранпаспорту, то выбираете общегражданский), номер, дату выдачи и срок действия и кем выдан паспорт.

6. Информация о посещении

В этом разделе рассказываете, куда направляетесь. Чтобы все корректно заполнить, информацию для этого раздела берите из приглашения. Например, если вы оформляете туристическую визу, в самом первом пункте «В какое учреждение направляетесь» перепишите данные из присланного вам туристического приглашения. В «Маршруте» выберите города, которые вы собираетесь посетить (можно выбрать несколько - для этого нажмите кнопку «Добавить»). В пункте о страховке перепишите номер страхового полиса и точное название страховой компании.

Если поездку оплачиваете вы сами, в пункте «Кто оплачивает вашу поездку и пребывание в России» выберите «Самостоятельно». Если вы пенсионер или, наоборот, школьник или студент и вашу поездку оплачивают родственники или друзья - выберите «Физическое лицо». Если деньги на поездку вам дало учебное заведение или компания, то выберите «Организация».

В последнем пункте напишите контакты тех мест, в которых вы будете жить. Если вы оформляете приглашение у нас, то вместе с документами вы получите инструкцию с адресом и другими данными, которые нужно вписать в анкету.

Все поля должны быть заполнены. Если у гостиницы нет номера телефона, не оставляйте поле пустым. Вбейте туда любые цифры - например, 111.7. Дополнительная информация

В этом разделе вы должны односложно ответить на вопросы о правонарушениях, болезнях, отказах в визе, депортациях, военной службе и т.д. Отвечайте честно, всю информацию работники консульства будут проверять.

8. Образование и трудовой стаж

Укажите, в каких учебных заведениях, кроме, школы, вы учились и расскажите о двух предыдущих местах работы. О том, где работаете сейчас пока не пишите.

Если вы вышли на пенсию, все равно укажите два последних места работы.

Если вы нигде не учились или никогда не работали, напишите об этом в сопроводительном письме.

Если компания, в которой вы работали, закрылась или переехала, в анкете указывайте тот адрес, по которому она находилась на момент вашей деятельности. Если вы не помните телефон компании, вместо прочерка впишите любые цифры.

Если вы не помните, где работали раньше и никаких документов об этом у вас не сохранилось, ответьте, что не работали и напишите сопроводительное письмо.

9. Информация о последнем посещении

Расскажите о прошлых поездках, не только в Россию, но и в другие страны. Если вы не помните точных дат, введите приблизительные.

10. Контактная и другая информация

Здесь нужно рассказать, как зовут ваших родителей, указать ваш домашний адрес и телефон.

В поле «ваш личный телефон» введите номер мобильного телефона, а не городского. Если у вас нет мобильного телефона, введите номер родственников или друзей.

Далее укажите место, где вы сейчас работаете или учитесь. Если вы на пенсии, то на вопрос «Работаете вы или учитесь» все равно ответьте да, в полях «место работы» и «должность» напишите «пенсионер», в поле «адрес» напишите «нет», в поле «телефон» укажите любые цифры.11. Место подачи заявления. Выберите место, в которое будете подавать документы на визу. Например, если вы указали, что живете в Австрии, вам предложат выбрать российские консульства и визовые центры, находящиеся в городах Австрии.

Всё, ваша анкета готова. Проверьте ее еще раз, сохраните и распечатайте в двух экземплярах.

Печатайте анкету только на белой непрозрачной бумаге формата А4, на цветной бумаге анкету не примут. Используйте цветные картриджи и печатайте анкету только с одной стороны листа, печатать с двух сторон нельзя.

После отправки анкеты вы все еще можете внести изменения. Для этого перейдите сюда и заполните четыре поля: номер анкеты, свою фамилию, год рождения и пароль. После этого вашей анкете будет присвоен новый номер - запишите его.

Визовая анкета действительна в течение 30 дней с момента подачи заявки.

Шаг 4: Проверьте паспорт

В загранпаспорте должны быть не менее двух чистых страниц для вклеивания визы, а срок действия паспорта должен быть не менее 6 месяцев после предполагаемой даты отъезда из России. Если пустых страниц не осталось или срок действия на исходе, оформите новый паспорт.

На оформление визы вы подаете оригинал паспорта, но у вас могут попросить еще и предыдущие паспорта, если они были.

Шаг 5: Сделайте две фотографии

Вам понадобятся две цветные фотографии 3,5?4,5 см. Сфотографируйтесь на светлом фоне в анфас, без очков с затемненными стеклами. Фотографии должны быть хорошего качества: четкие, без пикселей, не темные и не засвеченные.

Аккуратно вклейте фотографию в специальную рамку в анкете, которую вы распечатали. В черной рамке под фотографией поставьте дату и подпись.

Если вы путешествуете с детьми, приготовьте свидетельства о рождении и копии паспортов родителей.

4. Куда подавать документы на визу

Все собранные документы нужно отнести в российское консульство или визовый центр той страны, гражданином который вы являетесь. Если вы гражданин стран Шенгенского соглашения, то можете получить визу в любой из стран шенгена.

Если вы гражданин одной страны, а живете в другой, то российскую визу можете получить там, где сейчас живете, но при условии, что у вас есть вид на жительство или разрешение на работу в стране проживания.

5. Сколько стоит виза и когда будет готова

Стоимость визы в Россию для граждан какой-нибудь страны стоит столько же, сколько виза для россиян в эту страну. Для граждан России шенгенская виза стоит 35 €, столько же платят за российскую визу европейцы.

Еще цена визы зависит от того, где вы её оформляете: в российском консульстве или визовом центре.

Дешевле всего оформлять визу в консульстве и посольстве, но там могут быть очереди, а на прием нужно записываться заранее. Если не хватает какого-либо документа или где-то допущена ошибка, на месте всё исправить не получится - придется заново записываться на прием.

В некоторых странах российские консульства принимают заявки на оформление визы через визовый центр - это помогает избежать очередей и упрощает процедуру оформления документов. Быстрее всего делают туристическую визу - обычно это занимает 7-10 рабочих дней. Деловую - от 3 дней до двух недель, гостевую - от 7 дней до месяца.

7. Как уменьшить вероятность отказа в визе

Чаще всего в визе отказывают не злостным преступникам, а обычным гражданам, которые невнимательно заполнили документы.

1. Проверьте срок действия вашего паспорта. Визу не дадут, если срок действия паспорта менее 6 месяцев после предполагаемой даты выезда из России.
2. Оформляйте приглашение в официальных организациях, которые имеют на это лицензию. Если приглашение оформляет турагентство, проверьте, чтобы оно было в Едином реестре туроператоров . Подлинность полученного приглашения можете проверить на сайте МВД России . Если ваше приглашение фальшивое и оформлено организацией, которая работает неофициально, в визе вам откажут.
3. Соберите полный пакет документов. Проверьте документы на ошибки и неточности.
4. Проследите, чтобы цель поездки, а также города посещения и отель соответствовали тому, что указано в оформленном приглашении.
5. Даты поездки, которые вы указали в визовом заявлении, должны совпадать с датами в приглашении.
6. Не нарушайте законы. Визу не дадут иностранцам, которые не заплатили штраф, нарушили сроки пребывания в стране и покинули ее с просроченной визой или были депортированы.

8. После приезда

На этом формальности не закончились. Когда вы приедете в Россию, вам придется заполнить миграционную карту и зарегистрироваться. Тут есть свои нюансы.

Миграционная карта

Обычно ее дают заполнить во время прохождения паспортного контроля в аэропорту или на российской таможне, если вы пересекаете границу на поезде, автобусе или автомобиле.

Миграционная карта состоит из двух одинаковых частей размером в страницу паспорта. Вы заполняете обе. Потом пограничник оторвет одну часть и заберет себе, а вторая останется у вас. Положите карту в паспорт и не потеряйте - когда будете покидать Россию, миграционную карту нужно будет показать пограничникам.

Регистрация по прибытию

Если вы приехали в Россию меньше, чем на 7 дней, можете дальше не читать - регистрация вам не нужна. Если вы планируете погостить подольше, придется зарегистрироваться.

По российским законам вы обязаны зарегистрироваться в течение семи рабочих дней с начала приезда. Это нужно для того, чтобы миграционная служба знала, где вы будете жить. Если вы останавливаетесь в разных городах, то регистрироваться придется в каждом городе.

Регистрация - это важно. Если вы остановитесь в гостинице, вас зарегистрирует администратор, если остановитесь в квартире или доме у родственников или друзей, то регистрировать вас будут они. Вам просто нужно будет снять копию с первой страницы паспорта, визы и миграционной карты, которую вы заполняли на границе, и передать тем, кто будет вас регистрировать.
